Accessibility Statement
Updated October 24, 2026
We want The Giveaway Picker to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we've done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines and a “Skip to content” link.
- Text and controls meet AA color-contrast levels in both light and dark mode.
- Form fields and buttons have accessible names, and the winner is announced to screen readers when it's picked.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and a declared language.
- Animations respect your device's “reduce motion” setting, and sound is off unless you turn it on.
- We test with automated tools (axe-core) and by hand. We don't use accessibility overlay widgets.
Known limitations
- The spinning reel and wheel are visual effects. Screen readers skip the animation and announce the result instead, and the full entry list and winners are available as text on the draw record.
- Reveal videos have no spoken audio or captions. The winner's name is shown as on-screen text.
- Content imported from Instagram, YouTube or other platforms (such as usernames with emoji) is shown as provided.
